Introduction:
For the catapult project, the juniors at the manufacturing technology academy (MTA) split into groups of three. We then worked together to design and create a catapult. The requirements for the this catapult were that it be able to launch a ball into a bucket from ten feet and twenty-five feet. Below is a picture of our finished catapult.
The Academic Skills and Objectives that I Used Were:
- Know the elements of the processes and concepts for understanding the design process.
- Apply appropriate safety and health practices when developing plans, projects, processes, or solving
- complex problems.
- Exercise good safety practices.
- Use appropriate safety techniques, equipment, and processes in planning and /or project applications.
- Demonstrate safe use of tools and equipment.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Justification:
I used this project for my portfolio because it allowed us to have more options than other projects. For this project, we could make any kind of catapult, using any kind of skill we wanted to. Also, we used multiple skills building this project.
